
Rajouri, Mar 10:District Police Rajouri organized an exciting Volleyball Tournament at Government Degree College (GDC) Thannamandi under the Civic Action Programme with the aim of promoting sports culture among youth and strengthening police-public relations.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students of the college and created a vibrant atmosphere of healthy competition and sportsmanship.The final match was played between the teams of 4th Semester and 2nd Semester. In a thrilling contest, the 4th Semester team emerged victorious, defeating the 2nd Semester team with a convincing score of 2–0 sets, displaying remarkable coordination, teamwork, and sports spirit throughout the match.
The concluding ceremony was graced by the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Thannamandi, Parupkar Singh, who attended the event as the Chief Guest.While addressing the gathering, the SDPO appreciated the enthusiasm of the participating students and highlighted the importance of sports in channelizing the energy of youth in a positive direction. He emphasized that sports help in developing discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle.
Speaking on the growing concern of drug abuse among youth, SDPO Parupkar Singh urged students to stay away from drugs and other social evils. He stated that drug abuse not only destroys the future of individuals but also harms families and society as a whole. He appealed to the youth to focus on education, sports, and constructive activities to build a bright future. He further assured that District Police Rajouri is committed to taking strict action against drug peddlers and spreading awareness to eradicate the menace of drugs from society.
On the occasion, the winning and runner-up teams were felicitated with trophies and certificates, and the participants were encouraged to actively engage in sports and other positive activities.
