Ramadan : Month of Compassion and Sacrifice

Allah Almighty also increases the feeling of compassion and love for each other in the hearts of the believers

March 26, 2023 | Rayees Yaseen

Allah Ta'ala is once again blessing us with the month of Ramadan with blessings, happiness and immense mercy. In the month of Ramadan, where many blessings are revealed, Allah Almighty also increases the feeling of compassion and love for each other in the hearts of the believers. Ramadan is the month of compassion. Compassion means killing one's self and caring for the poor, the poor and the destitute. This holy month calls for attention to be paid to the poor sections of the society, to find and help starving families in their neighborhoods and neighborhoods who are deprived of two meals a day. So that their Suhoor and Iftar can be good and the blessings that nature has bestowed on the rich class can be used to decorate the table of the poor.

The Prophet ﷺ says that whoever feeds the hungry or clothes the naked or gives a place for a traveler to spend the night, Allah will protect him from the hardships of the Day of Resurrection. In another hadith, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: Allah will say on the Day of Resurrection, O son of Adam! I asked you for food, but you did not give it, so he will say: O my Lord! Why should I feed you when you are the one who nurtures all people?
Allah will say that you do not know that such and such a servant of mine asked you for food but you did not feed him? Don't you know that if you had fed him, you would have found the food you fed me here? O son of Adam! I asked you for water, but you did not give me water, so he will say, O my Lord! How can I feed you when you are the Lord of the worlds? Allah Almighty will say that such and such a servant of mine asked you for water, but you did not give him water. If you had given him water, he would have found it here.
(Muslim. Abu Huraira) From this hadith, it is known that feeding a poor person is a work of great reward and reward. This incident shows the spirit of charity and compassion among the Companions. Hazrat Abu Jahm (RA) says that in the battle of Yarmouk, I went in search of my cousin who was participating in the battle to see his condition and I took a bottle of water with me because it is possible that he was thirsty.
So give them water. By chance, he met me in a place where his body was full of injuries and he was dying, so I asked him to offer me water, so he said, "Plau, I offered water." He put it in the bowl near his lips, and in the meantime, another wounded mujahid who was lying nearby said, "Water, my cousin said to me, 'Leave me, give water to the mujahid companion who is lying next to me.'"Hazrat Abu Jahm says: I reached this companion, another mujahid companion lying next to him said, "Water." This other companion signaled to me, leave me, drink water to this mujahid companion lying next to me. He says that when I reached him, his soul had taken flight. When he turned back, the other two gentlemen had also reached the Hauz Kausar while making sacrifices at the last moment. Allahu Akbar is an event, but if we go to the bottom of this event, where the effect of the training of Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ is seen, the Companions are seen teaching compassion and compassion in the last time. Ramadan is the month of compassion and sacrifice. Where a Muslim breaks his fast with good blessings for his family, he has the right to look around to see if any house is hungry and thirsty. Don't dress up. A Muslim should keep in mind that whatever situation I am in, it is a test from Allah Almighty. He will pay the right of the poor.
It is mentioned in the Holy Hadith that on the Day of Resurrection, a person will not be able to move from his place until he answers five questions: How long did he spend his life, what did he spend his youth in, where did he earn his wealth and where did he spend it, and how far did he reach his knowledge. What did you do? So a Muslim should get wealth from halal crops. Then spend this wealth on the poor, needy and needy. If he spends this wealth only on luxury and does not pay zakat and does not give charity, then this wealth will be a cause of failure for him on the Day of Judgment.
In Ramadan, the reward of a good deed is up to seven hundred times. If a Muslim spends one rupee in this month, then Allah gives him the reward of spending seven hundred rupees. Then, what is far from Allah's mercy and grace that Allah Almighty likes this act of a servant, that if a morsel goes into the mouth of a poor person or a sip of syrup falls in the mouth of a poor person during Iftar and Suhr, then Allah Almighty decrees forgiveness. If possible, this can be done in the form of cash. Otherwise, the best case is to give rations according to the ability and take care of the poor and the needy as much as possible, then Allah Almighty will bestow rewards in the Hereafter. The world will also provide expansion in sustenance, then this reward and reward is different. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that whoever breaks the fast for a fasting person, whether it is made from dates or milk mixed with water, Allah would grant him a reward equal to that of the fasting person. and there is no reduction in the reward of the fasting person.
