Sexual Violence in Kashmir has increased alarmingly threatens the girls right from minors to adults ,crying for their security, want protection from abuse and exploitation and yearning for justice which is at times fails to fulfil.
Recent incidents of rape have stirred the conscience of the whole Kashmir even it doesn't not healed up the deep wounds of Asifa's case properly yet another big shock triggered the whole Kashmir when a minor girl , Aiman Zehra, 3 years old, from Bandipora raped beastly by a local youth of age 27.
These incidents are being reported frequently at various parts of the Kashmir and women including young and minors search protection from these barbaric attacks. Not only their character hampered but also their future is at stake as they are feeling insecure to go to schools or colleges and linger to carry out their future for Higher studies.
Understanding the issues concerning sexual violence are critical to generate sustainable solutions to the problem. The higher authorities of government collecting statistics and information about sexual crimes are trying to curb the grave concern at grass root level otherwise It could have deterrent effects on the future of our society.
Huge protestations were carried out through out valley demanded hanging of culprit of Aiman Zehra to deliver justice . Also government authorities directed the police to make the case fool proof to ensure exemplary punishment for the culprit and police trying their best to prove it fool proof at ground level.
Apart from the valley wide protestation religious leaders of different communities spoke hard over the crime and at religious assemblies people are being provoked by fiery speech and everybody looking to condemn the gruesome act unanimously. Peace is disrupted throughout the valley , anti-socials took every advantage of the situation to fuel it more and more and
even clashes erupted with the police and paramilitary forces at several places resulted into injuries to many people.
Investigation will go to root level at earliest time, justice will be delivered one day and may be culprit will be hanged under proper crime protection laws but key point to be noted here that the victim has to face tough time ahead as the future of Aiman Zehra becomes black stained.
As might be expected, she will generally experience high levels of distress when she is going to interact with the people as they are no more patient they can throw abusing words and will remind her the tragedy of rape. If they can show some kind of sensitivity but she is going to start pre schooling as her peer adolescents might get a good chance unknowingly to pelt stone over her in terms of harsh words. These feelings may have long devastating effects on her and will continue to experience some form of psychological distress for years.
She can be at high risk of life disorders, depression, anxiety , she can be alienated from the society and even she can reach to the acute stage of going to suicide.
While taking these disorders she may face difficult in concentrating, making decisions, or doing everyday tasks especially at the time of marriage she will face complete negation of opponent partner and thus her family has to carry heavy burden on shoulders till her death.
Crime is crime whether it is done by a lettered or unlettered person and criminal taking his chance to do it but the person over which this crime has done results into destruction and humiliation. It is because the crime which is done now a days is highlighted in no time like forest fire through different media.
Apart from the media the social networking especially Facebook is playing a key role in out bursting the crime among the public this makes the victim more alienated from the peers, relatives and even from whole society.
So people must understand the detrimental effects of sharing and exposing the crime publicly, publishing and Distributing Rape and Gang Rape content is illegal in India and being Muslims we must put covers over any kind of crime and try to stabilise them as Shariah says.
