CCIK, JKHC express gratitude to PM, LG, CS, artisans

 Chairman of the J&K Hotelier Club and Chief Patton CCIK Mushtaq Chaya and CCIK President Tariq Ghani expressed their heartfelt congratulations to the artisans, business community, and all residents of Jammu & Kashmir on the remarkable recognition of Srinagar as World Craft City by World Craft Council.

The statement issued reads, “This accolade is a testament to the unparalleled skill and dedication of our local artisans, whose work continues to captivate the world. This historic achievement marks a significant milestone in the promotion of Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship."

The President Tariq Ghani CCIK and Chairman J&K Hotelier Club Mushtaq Chaya extend their deepest gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, for their unwavering support and visionary leadership that have made this achievement possible.

Their commitment to the development of the region has played a pivotal role in securing this prestigious status, it added.

The trade body expressed gratitude to Chief Secretary Atal Duloo, the Department of Handicrafts and Handloom, Department of Industries and Commerce, the Department of Tourism for their tireless efforts in promoting the craftsmanship and tourism potential of Jammu & Kashmir.

Their dedication has been instrumental in achieving this significant milestone, it reads

"This recognition is expected to provide a substantial boost to the artisans, the business community, and the tourism industry in the region. By highlighting Srinagar’s unique crafts on the global stage, we anticipate increased opportunities for our local artists and craftsmen, fostering greater economic growth and cultural exchange," statement said.

"The CCIK and J&K Hotelier Club believe that this honor will not only enhance the livelihoods of our artisans but also attract more tourists to experience the rich cultural tapestry of Srinagar. This, in turn, will benefit the entire business fraternity, promoting sustainable development and prosperity in the region," it added.

CCIK appeals all citizens of Jammu & Kashmir to celebrate this momentous occasion and continue supporting our local artisans and work together to preserve and promote our rich heritage, ensuring that the art and craft of Kashmir thrive for generations to come, it also said.
