Sopore, Sep 28: The North Kashmir Football Premier League, held in memory of Maj Gopi Singh Rathore, SC, concluded its Sopore phase on Sunday at Mazbug Ground, Sopore.

The tournament was organised by 22 Rashtriya Rifles (22 RR) and commenced on September 21, with six teams participating in the Sopore phase and competing for qualification to the next stage of the league.
The final was played between Mehrajpora FC and Rishipora FC, with Rishipora FC securing a narrow 1-0 victory to emerge as the winners of the Sopore phase.
With the conclusion of Phase 1 in Sopore, both Rishipora FC and Mehrajpora FC have qualified for Phase 2 of the North Kashmir Football Premier League, which will be played in Bandipora.On the occasion of the final, officials of 22 RR were present at the venue.
The individual awards were also dominated by Rishipora FC players. Amir Ahmad Dar was awarded the Golden Ball and Golden Shoe, while Aakir Ahmad received the Golden Gloves. All three individual awards were claimed by players from Rishipora FC.
The tournament provided a platform for local footballers to showcase their talent while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork and football among the youth of North Kashmir.
