With easy access to the internet, children are exposed to content that is not suitable for their age. Social media, online games, and short videos reduce their attention span and make them less interested in studies. Instead of focusing on books, many students spend hours on screens, which directly impacts their academic performance.
Another contributing factor is the lack of proper supervision and guidance. In many cases, both parents are busy, leaving children unsupervised for long periods. Without guidance, children may develop bad habits such as addiction to screens, use of inappropriate language, or even experimenting with harmful substances. For example, some children have been found misusing everyday items like fluids for inhalation to experience pleasure, which is extremely dangerous. The use of electronic cigarettes among young students is also becoming alarmingly common Aggression among children is also increasing.
