Role of a Private School Teacher

Teacher makes every effort to make his students shine brighter, he is honored in all the world

June 05, 2022 | Er.Ishfaq Khaliq

The Teacher profession is considered a pious profession because a teacher is always above prejudice and malice he keeps working hard for his students, he makes every effort to make his students shine brighter, he is honored in all the world he is respected but as per our Kashmir valley is considered the case with private school the teacher is somehow different he has been always seen as poor, composed with zero honor and dignity it is always because of the little salary of these teachers. They are never paid that can fulfill their needs it is just an engagement for them to pass their time in private schools they work tirelessly but are paid peanuts for their hardship.
The individuals and the job of a private school teacher are now looked down upon in society; it is all because owing to the appalling salaries and working hours. Private school teachers in Kashmir are one of the underpaid lots in the valley, who have to work on meager salaries because the UT of J-K has failed to stimulate new avenues of lucrative employment in the private sector. In a typical private school, a teacher is paid about Rs 5, 000 to 9, 000 per month. However, teachers who teach in schools in villages and remote areas, get just about Rs 3, 000 to 6, 000 thousand, monthly. The teachers are ‘ashamed’ of being in the teaching profession for such meager salaries, even if the private school teachers were okay with the salaries, the non-payment of these meager amounts for months together is what irritates them most. We are not paid for four or five consecutive months. “It is not that the parents of the school children do not pay the fee, but the school authorities like to do some side-business, construction activities etc. with the same. We are made to suffer for no fault of ours, 65,000 teachers and the allied staff was currently affected in J&K. “There are no regular salaries for all the teachers. Only a few schools are paying wages to their staff while the remaining are suffering, Private School Teachers have to face enormous difficulties and miseries while discharging their duties, in many places they are treated as slaves and second-class citizens by school administrations and the people at the helm of affairs. It is pertinent to mention here that some of the finest schools in the valley value and appreciate the efforts and hard work of their teachers and this is undoubtedly a very encouraging and appreciable trend in making. However, the fact is that as a society we have always failed to understand, recognize and appreciate the strenuous efforts of our private school teachers in nation-building. There must be a system so that they must not suffer they are working tirelessly a system should be made so that the private school teacher earns his livelihood from the school teaching job only he should not be dependent on anybody he should be respected and valued in the society.
At last, I would like to say that the private school teachers are the backbone of the society the educational demands of the students cannot be fulfilled without the private school teachers they must be respected with dignity and must be paid their salaries so that they and their family should not suffer.
