Education is not only a fundamental right but a responsibility on the part of the established society. Better education makes a better society. Better education means a prosperous state in which each individual contributes his best possible services. Education made every individual member of society to be responsible, conscious, duty-bound, fearful, sincere honest and dedicated. Education is the gateway to all professions. An educated member of society understands duties and responsibilities towards society.

A society will not be a better place to live and function progressively for the development of the country if the participants are not educated. It is the responsibility of every member of our society to take a lead in educating every member of our society. Educated societies are economically and democratically better. Education empowers each individual to know more about the constructive possibilities of living and also how to contribute more to society for the benefit of all.
Every society signifies the communion of individuals based on shared values and common history which through ages has crystallized in a common culture. Education is nothing but the cultivation of these values within individuals, thereby making them fit for society. So, education is not only to get jobs but to learn the principles of life and to be a good human being. For a better member of society education, not academic qualification plays an important role in shaping societies as a role model.
Education protects individuals from corruption, dishonesty and social evils. It made humans civilized and disciplined. Youth is an asset for the transformation and progress of any state. Societies have fallen downtrodden and backward the reason is illiteracy. Society at the social level must come forward to help each other to build a better school of education.
Today youth have fallen into the menace of terrorism and drug due to the lack of participation of responsible social members in the social matters of society. Every responsible member of the progressive society will keep a check on every other individual at every place.
In Kashmir radicalization was spread in schools. Even at the beginning of the uprising in Kashmir in the 1990s educational institutions were the main targets. The main aim behind this was to segregate youth from the schools. The target was to push them into violence, and infiltration and ultimately recruit them into an armed insurgency. To operate this operation the enemy started to burn down schools in the valley. Destabilizing educational systems to control youth through religious preaching and to motivate them for an armed insurgency. Peace loving people surrendered under the mighty gun. Those who raise their voices against terrorism and the destruction of public property were shut forever. For decades such types of barbarism and terrorism demolish and deteriorate life in general and youthfulness in particular.
Besides peace loving people, Indian army a multi-tasking institution pays a way forward for helpless Kashmiris and not only protects them from the terrorists but implements a pro-people approach to revamp the loss in education and the economy. Indian army installs the bridges and school’s burn down during the turmoil. They construct roads, open skill centres and motivate youth towards education. They eliminate the weed in society.
To make the deteriorated system into practice, it was necessary to restore peace and protect the common people. Indian Army takes this lead and with the huge sacrifice made this possible. Today we see no hartals, stone pelting and violence. Army with its professionalism made things much easier and happier in the valley.
Society is the first school for everyone. So, every child starts learning from his family, siblings, peer groups, etc. Even every educational institution is also part of it. So, every child gets direct and indirect learnings from its society.
Then Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor once said while inaugurating Army Public School in Kashmir that the education system in Kashmir was vandalized in two decades of insurgency. Radicalization inside and out has been at its lowest ebb now. The role of schools in Kashmir is changing and heeding tremendous results. Civil society and local communities have a role and responsibility to provide good education to their children so that they can become better citizens of tomorrow. Education provides an individual a sense of belongingness, consciousness, Moral Development, Cultural Development, Development of Positive Attitude, Development of Democratic Values, Sublimation of Instincts, Co-Operative Living, Resolving Conflicts and Contradictions above all Value education which is the foundation of character and moral development.
Behind, Today’s fair and peaceful environment in Kashmir after decades there is a heavy cost to the lives of the soldiers. The last two years passed without any interruption in the social setup. These years we got new hopes and expectations. Youth is engaged, people are working and peace is prevailing. Here, we must focus on better education for our children which will make our society more peaceful, progressive and prosperous. Let's educate our society for the betterment of our future.
