
Showket Sajad Bhat, known by his pen name Sakib Poshpori, is a distinguished poet, writer, and cultural activist from Poshpora, Trehgam, Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir. He belongs to the esteemed family of Late Al-Haj Haji Habibullah Bhat (رحمہ اللہ علیہ), whose values of faith and integrity deeply influenced his literary journey. Academically accomplished, Sakib Poshpori holds Master’s degrees in Urdu and Education, along with B.Ed, a Computer Diploma, and a Diploma in Hotel Management. His poetic journey began during his 12th grade, and since then he has steadily emerged as a powerful and sensitive voice in contemporary literary era. He writes in Urdu, Kashmiri, and English, and his creative expression spans poetry (especially Ghazal) and prose. His written work includes approximately 250 Urdu poems and 300 Kashmiri poems, reflecting remarkable depth, linguistic command, and emotional intensity. His poetry addresses a wide range of themes including romantic love, religion, spirituality, social issues, poverty, education, humanity, and contemporary realities. His Kashmiri poems vividly portray societal struggles such as floods, displacement, ignorance, and moral decay, while his Urdu poetry reflects refined classical sensibilities blended with modern consciousness.
