Manipur, June 8: Intelligence-based joint operations conducted by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles under Spear Corps, in close coordination with Manipur Police, from May 31 to June 6, 2026, led to significant security gains across multiple districts of Manipur.
The coordinated operations were carried out in both hill and valley districts, including Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Chandel, Kakching, Thoubal, and Tengnoupal.
During the week-long operations, security forces apprehended 25 cadres involved in various unlawful activities. In addition, 27 weapons, along with explosives and other war-like stores, were recovered from different locations.
Officials stated that the operations were based on precise intelligence inputs and aimed at disrupting militant networks and strengthening peace and stability in the region.
The recovered arms and ammunition included items capable of being used in violent activities, and their seizure is expected to significantly reduce the operational capability of insurgent groups active in the area.
Security forces reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination with Manipur Police and continuing sustained intelligence-driven operations to ensure long-term peace and security across the state.
Authorities added that such joint efforts reflect the ongoing strategy to dismantle underground networks and restore normalcy in both sensitive and remote regions of Manipur.
