New Delhi, Mar 9: A seminar titled “Challenges to the North East: Assessment & Way Forward” is scheduled to be held on 10 March 2026, bringing together experts, policymakers, and defence personnel to discuss strategic, socio-economic, and security issues facing India’s northeastern region. The event aims to provide a comprehensive assessment of the region’s current challenges and explore actionable solutions for sustainable development and enhanced security.

The seminar will be graced by Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, SYSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy), who will attend as the Chief Guest. His address is expected to highlight the strategic significance of the North East, contemporary security concerns, and the role of the Indian Army in maintaining stability and fostering development in the region.
Participants will include senior government officials, defence analysts, academicians, and regional experts who will engage in detailed discussions on issues such as insurgency, cross-border security, infrastructure development, economic integration, and community engagement.
