Shab-E-Barat: The Holy Night of Awakening and Bliss

All the religions of the world are great and these are different paths for realizing the ultimate and only truth and all these religions lead to same goal but in different ways and thus all of us have the moral responsibility to respect all the religions and their incarnations, avtars and messengers of God. There are different festivals in different religions and the people celebrate these festivals with great pomp and show. One of the important festivals of Islam and to be specific of the Muslims is the holy festival of Shab-i-Barat which as the name implies is the night of awakening and bliss and on this holy night the Muslims awake all the night and offer prayers to Prophet Mohammad with great devotion and thus get the blessings from the great messenger of Allah which is the Arabic translation of God.
The Muslims celebrate the festival of Shbi-e-Barat with great devotion and perform prayers all through the night. On this great night the Muslims visit masques, religious places and pray for the well being of their families, the society in which they live and for their country as well. Not only this the Muslims pray for the good and wellbeing of the entire humanity and thus Islam like Hinduism prays for the good of the entire human race. The Muslims have made preparations for celebrating the big festival of Shab-E-Barat.On this auspicious occasion believers pray for their dead ancestors so that they remain in peace in the next world. It is believed and widely held view that one who with great devotion and pure heart pray to God, their sins are pardoned by the Allah almighty. Let us know what is the special importance of this day in the religion of Islam. This year Shab-E-Barat is being celebrated on 7th of March-Tuesday.
Shab-E-Barat is the night of prayer,charity and Tilavat in Islamic language as verses from holy Quran are recited or listened with devotion and charity is also made on this day as Muslims also make donations to the poor and needy people and people perform other holy and great works on this important day. On this day mosques and graves of the dead ones are decorated.Muslims for late night offer prayers for the peace of mind of the dead ancestors and prayers are offered to the almighty for pardoning of the sins committed. In Islam the importance of Shab-E-Barat is very great and special. It is said and believed that whosoever prays to God on the auspicious night of Shab-E-Barat ,all his sins get washed off such is the greatness and importance of this night and so the Muslims devotedly pray to Allah during this holy night. Therefore the Muslims remain awake all the night in Shab-E-Barat and pray to God and their sins are pardoned.Shab-E-Barat is one of the important festivals of the Muslims. Shab-E-Barat is known as the night of prayers. On this festival at the night Muslims see the moon and pray whole night for remission of their sins.
As per Islamic calendar, Shab-E-Barat is celebrated on the fifteenth night of the month. Shab-e-Barat is the eight month of the Islamic calendar. This month is called the month of greeting and in Islamic terminology this month is regarded as the Mubarik month. It is believed that one who prays during the night of Shabi-e-Barat all his sins get absolved and therefore this night is held in great esteem and Muslims attach much and special importance to this night of benevolence. It is because of this that the Muslims awake throughout this night and continues prayers whole night for remission of all their sins. Let us know the way and manner of celebrating Shab-e-Barat. This day of the prayer of Allah is celebrated in a special and pious manner.On the auspicious occasion the mosques and graves are specially decorated.
On the grave yards lights are lit and pray for absolution. People visit mosques and graves and pray to God for the peace of their dead ancestors. This night is regarded as one night of the four holy nights of the Muslim calendar, the first night is the night of Ashura night, second is second is Shab-i-Mehraj, the third is Shab-e-Barat and the fourth is called Shab-e-Kader. Moreover homes are well and specially decorated on this occasion. On this day Nimaz is offered and prayers are made to absolve of the sins. In homes different pleasant cuisines such as Biryane, Kurma, Halwa etc is cooked and after prayers to God are distributed among the poor. Let us know the importance of Shab-e-Barat. Shab means night and Barat means to be free. On this basis Shab-e-Barat is the night of forgiving of sins and prayers to God. During this night Muslims pray at the graves of their dead ones for the peace of the departed souls. Those who pray with devotion and true heart for absolving of their sins, the almighty Allah opens the door of heaven for them, such is the belief of the believers. Muslims have made preparations for celebrating Shab-e-Barat .On this day Muslims pray to God for their dead ancestors.

People pray at graveyards and pray for the blessings for themselves and also pray to God for giving place in heaven for their dead ancestors and also pray to God for absolving of the sins. In Islam there is special importance of this festival, however the importance of Shab-e-Barat is seen and celebrated in South Asia mainly. Shab-e Barat is one of the main festivals of Islam and Muslims and is celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm by the Muslim community. Being one of the important festivals of the Islam, it is celebrated with great devotion and zeal and the Muslims pray to God for absolving of their sins and so on this night Muslims awake all the night and offer prayers to the Allah. May this holy and great night of Shab-e-Barat bring peace, prosperity and happiness to the whole world and free Kashmir from the scourge of death and destruction-Ameen.
