Farooq Ahmad Wani basically a geographer was my batch mate in Kashmir university, reportedly he has also done a diploma in mass communication and journalism by virtue of which he has taken a plunge into journalism. Presently working as senior journalist – cum – editor, has more than three decade of experience in multi-media and journalism. Wani has written two books and also contributes significantly articles and columns highlighting a gamut of socio-economic, political and current issues.

Farooq Ahmad Wani's booklet, “Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA): Kashmir's Mystic Sufi Saint”, offers an insightful exploration into the life and teachings of Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani, (RA) affectionately known as Nund Reshi.
