
Shopian, June 21: The District Shopian Pencak Silat Championship concluded today with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit. The championship witnessed the participation of around 200 players from various schools and clubs across District Shopian.
The event provided a valuable platform for young athletes to showcase their talent, discipline, and commitment to the sport of Pencak Silat. Participants displayed remarkable skills and sportsmanship throughout the championship.
The Chief Guest of the opening ceremony was DYSP Imam Sahib, Mr. Chander Kant, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers and encouraged the participants to excel in sports alongside academics.
The closing ceremony was graced by DYSP Zainapora, Ather Samad, as the Chief Guest. He congratulated the winners and participants and emphasized the importance of sports in promoting physical fitness, discipline, and youth development.
The Guest of Honour for the closing ceremony was Mr. Irfan-ul-Islam, Principal of Cambridge Noorani Educational Institute, Nagbal, who applauded the efforts of the athletes and organizers for making the championship a grand success.
