
Dryland Agriculture Research Station, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) on 24th July, 2024 started training program under HADP titled “Organic Certification of Niche Crops to Enhance their Niche Value”. The training program is being conducted under Project No. 16 “Alternate System of Agriculture for Sustainability” wef 24-26 July, 2024.
The program was attended by over 20 farmers along with scientists and staff of DARS, Rangreth.
The event commenced under the chairmanship of Prof. Zahoor A. Dar, Associate Director Research, who briefed the participants about the research activities being carried out at DARS-Rangreth.
Dr. Zahida Rashid, Course Director of the training programme, highlighted the importance of organic certification and the procedure thereof. She stressed on the adoption of recommended organic agricultural practices. The Course Coordinators Dr. Aamir H. Mir and Dr. Shabeena Majid emphasized on sustainable soil practices and different horticultural techniques for niche crops of Kashmir valley, respectively.
The program ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Shabeena Majid.
