Srinagar, April 3: A meeting of all stakeholders of the Non-Teaching Employees Association (NTEA), SKUAST-K, was held today in the office of the President to deliberate on recent developments concerning the university and employee welfare.

During the meeting, the association unanimously appreciated the initiatives taken by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, terming them as progressive steps towards institutional excellence and staff welfare.
The association welcomed the inauguration of the R&D Tulip Excellence Centre at Sagam in Anantnag. Launched by the Minister for Agriculture, this facility is set to serve as a cornerstone for self-reliance in tulip bulb production. By localizing the production of high-quality bulbs, the centre is expected to provide a significant boost to the tourism economy of Jammu and Kashmir while ensuring long-term agricultural sustainability. NTEA members expressed their gratitude for this strategic advancement, noting that such infrastructure is vital for the region to achieve economic independence in specialised floriculture sectors.
Simultaneously, Vice Chancellor has addressed long-standing employee needs by inaugurating a crèche and day-care facility at the main campus in Shalimar. The NTEA has characterised this as a visionary step that demonstrates a profound commitment to the progress of the university's staff. By providing a secure and professional environment for the children of employees, the university is actively turning logistical workplace challenges into meaningful social achievements.
