Administration don't want to take any chance as for as containment of Covid-19 is concerned. It has decided to put in quarantine all those who were in contact with a Corporator of Ward Kawdara Srinagar, whose brother was tested positive for Coronavirus a couple of days ago.
Pertinent to mention here is that the brother of the Corporator Majid Rashid Shahlu had concealed his travel history and was traced after neighbours informed the Administration. The Corporator was living with his brother at home and at the same time was attending sanitation drives along with SMC officials and employees.
Sources  said  that SMC has issued directives to some Corporators, employees and officials to go for home quarantine till the report of the Corporator in question doesn't turn out negative.
Those who will go for home quarantine include Junaid Azim Matuu Mayor, Parvaiz Qadri, Corporators,  Zubair Fayaz,  Uman Maqbool,  Nazir Gilkar, Ms.Shaheena,  Arif Raja of BJP, Aqib Ahmed Renzu,  Tanveer Pathan, Inayat Hussain Mir,  Saleem Lone, Aga Syed Hussaini, Danish Bhat, Muktar Ahmed,  Hanief Ahmed.
In addition personal private staff of Mayor including  Sheikh Firdous,  Fida Hussain,  Firdous Ahmed and all  personnel and staff of Mayor and Deputy Mayor Office will go for home quarantine.
Besides, SMC Officers including  Gazanfar Ali (Commissioner),   Syed Abul Qasim (JCA),  Sofi Akbar (Secty, SMC), photographer teams accompanying Mayor and Deputy Mayor have also been asked to go for home quarantine.
Ironically, one of the Corporators, Nazir Ahmed Gilkar distributed nutrition to Anganwari Centres today. "As a Councillor and Chairman of Anganwari Centres of Ward 34 Basant Bagh Srinagar, today I distributed nutrition in Anganwari Centres under ICDS Program of Social Welfare Department," Gilkar wrote on his Facebook account.
He distributed nutrition kits at Gadoodh Bagh, Chandpora, Kralkhud, Safayar, Shalteng, Sheshyar, Agha Hamam and Bari Nambal. (KNT)
