Srinagar, Sep 29: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) today organised a Mental Health and Meditation Session for its officers and employees in collaboration with the Art of Living at the SMC Meeting Hall, Srinagar, with the objective of promoting mental well-being, mindfulness and effective stress management in the workplace.
The session was attended by senior officers and officials of the Corporation and focused on the importance of mental well-being, emotional balance and maintaining a healthy approach towards workplace stress. Participants also took part in guided meditation and wellness-oriented practices.
Among those present were Ms. Nuzhat Khurshid Qurashi, JKAS, Joint Commissioner (Administration), SMC; Mr. Suhail Ul Islam, JKAS, Joint Commissioner (R&E); Mr. Syed Abul Qasim, Joint Commissioner (S), SMC; Dr. Fozia Habib, Health Officer, SMC; and Mr. Taahir Ahmad Magray, JKAS, Secretary, SMC, besides other senior officers and officials.
The session was conducted by Shri Vinod Soni and Smt. Jyoti Kaur, Senior Faculty, Art of Living, who guided the participants through meditation and wellness practices, while highlighting practical approaches to stress management and mental well-being.
The programme emphasised the importance of fostering a supportive, healthy and positive workplace, particularly for personnel engaged in demanding administrative and public-facing responsibilities.
The initiative reflects SMC’s continued commitment to employee welfare and workplace well-being, complementing its ongoing efforts towards efficient and responsive civic service delivery to the citizens of Srinagar.
