Authorities said the Banihal train service was disrupted on Friday after the train was stuck near Pattan in Baramulla district due to heavy snowfall.
Officials said that many passengers traveling in the train were stranded due to heavy snowfall which also disrupted traffic as roads in north Kashmir were closed.
The Met office has predicted more snow in coming 24 hours.
Avalanche warning has been issued in higher reaches of Kashmir. Meanwhile, Union Minister Anurag Thakur who is in Gulmarg for Khelo India winter games was seen playing cricket amid heavy snowfall. Over 1,500 players from across the country are participating in winter games at Gulmarg.
