June 22, 2026 | BK News Service

New Delhi, June 21: The Spear Corps and all Spear Warriors under the Eastern Command celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 with widespread participation across the northeastern states, reaffirming their commitment to holistic health, discipline, and mental resilience.

Yoga sessions were organised across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, and Mizoram, where serving personnel of the armed forces were joined by local residents in remote and border areas. The joint participation highlighted a strong sense of unity between the Army and civilian population.
Troops stationed at forward posts also took part in structured yoga sessions, emphasising physical fitness, stress management, and mental stability—key aspects of operational readiness in challenging terrains.
Organised under the aegis of the Eastern Command, the celebrations reflected the spirit of “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” and promoted the broader message of wellness, balance, and harmony. Command officials noted that such initiatives not only enhance physical well-being but also strengthen social cohesion in sensitive border regions.
The event concluded with collective yoga demonstrations and awareness sessions, encouraging participants to incorporate yoga into daily life for long-term health benefits and a more disciplined lifestyle.
