
New Delhi, May 3: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps conducted a Joint Flood Relief Capsule Training at Khongjom War Memorial Lake in Kakching district, Manipur, in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Air Squadron NCC.
The coordinated training exercise involved 126 personnel and cadets, focusing on strengthening disaster response capabilities and inter-agency coordination during flood emergencies.
Participants were trained in key rescue and relief operations, including flood rescue drills, boat navigation in turbulent waters, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and casualty evacuation techniques. The exercise also emphasized rapid response procedures and teamwork in emergency situations.
Officials stated that the training aimed to enhance preparedness for natural disasters, particularly floods, which frequently affect the region during the monsoon season. The joint initiative also helped improve operational synergy between the armed forces, disaster response units, and cadets.
