Imphal, Mar 2: Specialist troops of SpearCorps are conducting an intensive Counter Terrorism (CT) Course for personnel of the CISF in Assam, aimed at enhancing their tactical preparedness and operational effectiveness.
The training programme focuses on sharpening combat skills, improving response time, and strengthening coordination in counter-terror operations. Conducted by experienced Army instructors, the course includes modules on close quarter battle (CQB), room intervention drills, anti-hijack response, convoy protection, surveillance techniques, and handling of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Officials said the initiative is part of ongoing inter-force cooperation to ensure a unified and robust security framework, particularly in sensitive and high-value installations guarded by the CISF. The course also places emphasis on intelligence-based operations, situational awareness, urban warfare tactics, and real-time decision-making under high-pressure scenarios.
Practical exercises and simulated scenarios form a key component of the training, allowing CISF personnel to operate in near-realistic conditions. Joint drills are being conducted to strengthen interoperability between the Army and paramilitary forces, ensuring seamless coordination during contingencies.
Security experts note that such collaborative training programmes significantly enhance preparedness against emerging threats, including asymmetric warfare and terror-related incidents targeting critical infrastructure.
The initiative underscores the commitment of the armed forces and central armed police forces to maintain a high state of readiness and to continuously upgrade skill sets in the face of evolving security challenges.
