Spear Corps conducts mega blood donation drives

June 17, 2026 | BK News Service

Kohima, June 16: Formations under Spear Corps, in collaboration with civil administrations, organised large-scale blood donation and medical camps across multiple northeastern states, reinforcing ongoing military-civil cooperation and humanitarian outreach efforts.

The drives were conducted at Aalo and Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh; Tuensang, Jalukie and Tening in Nagaland; Kakching, Chandel and Bishnupur in Manipur; and Agartala and Kailashahar in Tripura.
A large number of troops, local youth, and civilians actively participated in the camps, contributing to significant collections of blood units and supporting local healthcare needs. The initiative aimed to strengthen regional medical reserves and improve emergency preparedness in remote and underserved areas.
The event at Agartala in Tripura was attended by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of the state, who acknowledged the collaborative effort between the armed forces and civil administration. Similarly, the drives held in Nagaland received encouragement aligned with the developmental and welfare-oriented vision of the state leadership.
Officials highlighted that such initiatives by the Indian Army and the Assam Rifles under Spear Corps reflect a sustained commitment to humanitarian service beyond operational duties.
By bringing together security forces and civilians in a shared welfare mission, the programme further strengthened trust, cooperation, and community engagement across the northeastern frontier regions.
