Spear Corps extends Solung festival greetings to people of AP

Arunachal Pradesh, Sep 1: On the joyous occasion of Solung, the traditional harvest festival of the Adi community, Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding of Spear Corps, along with all ranks, extended warm greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

In a message shared through official channels, Lt Gen Pendharkar conveyed heartfelt wishes for good luck, happiness, and prosperity, emphasizing the Indian Army’s deep respect for the rich cultural heritage and vibrant traditions of the northeastern state.
"May this auspicious festival of Solung bring abundant joy, peace, and prosperity to all homes. The Indian Army stands with the people of Arunachal Pradesh in celebrating this spirit of unity and gratitude," the message read.
Solung, observed with great enthusiasm by the Adi tribe, marks the onset of the harvest season and is celebrated with rituals, prayers, folk dances, and community feasting. It reflects the community’s strong ties to nature, agriculture, and cultural values.
