Imphal, June 15: On World Blood Donor Day 2026, Assam Rifles and Indian Army formations under Spear Corps, in collaboration with civil administrations, organised large-scale blood donation and medical camps across multiple locations in the Northeast.
The initiatives were held as part of efforts to promote voluntary blood donation, public health awareness, and strengthen civil-military cooperation in remote and sensitive regions.
Blood donation and medical camps were successfully conducted at Aalo and Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh; Tuensang, Jalukie and Tening in Nagaland; Kakching, Chandel and Bishnupur in Manipur; and Agartala and Kailashahar in Tripura.
A large number of volunteers, including civilians, security personnel, and local residents, participated in the drives. Medical teams ensured proper screening, safe collection procedures, and post-donation care for all donors.
Officials stated that such initiatives not only help in strengthening local blood banks and healthcare infrastructure but also encourage a spirit of service, solidarity, and community participation.
The coordinated effort by Spear Corps formations and civil authorities highlighted the continued commitment of the Armed Forces towards humanitarian outreach and public welfare in the Northeast region.
