Imphal May 5: Formations under the Spear Corps, including the Red Shield Division, Spearhead Division, and Dao Division, observed the first anniversary of Op Sindoor through a series of commemorative and outreach programmes conducted across multiple locations in the Northeast.
The events were organised in Imphal East district of Manipur, Pasighat and Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh, and Jonai in Assam, with a focus on engaging students and local communities through interactive lectures, competitions, and awareness-driven activities.
As part of the initiative, Army personnel interacted with students on themes of valour, discipline, leadership, and nation-building. The programmes highlighted the importance of unity, national integration, and youth participation in shaping a resilient and progressive society.
Competitions such as essay writing, painting, and quizzes were also held to encourage creative expression among students while deepening their understanding of civic responsibility and national ethos. Winners were felicitated by Army representatives during the events.
Officials stated that the outreach activities were aimed at strengthening civil-military relations and fostering mutual trust between the armed forces and local populations. The engagements also sought to inspire youth towards constructive roles in society while promoting awareness about discipline and service to the nation.
The Spear Corps formations reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace, stability, and harmony in the region, while continuing efforts to connect with communities through such outreach and youth-focused initiatives.
The anniversary observance of Op Sindoor thus served not only as a commemoration of the operation but also as a platform for reinforcing shared values of patriotism, unity, and collective progress across the Northeast.
