Charaideo (, May 9: The Dao Division under Spear Corps organised ESM Saptah at Charaideo, Assam, as a tribute to ex-servicemen whose service, sacrifice and patriotism continue to inspire generations.

The week-long initiative featured a range of welfare and outreach activities aimed at supporting veterans and their families, strengthening their connection with the armed forces, and addressing key concerns related to post-retirement life.
A medical camp was set up to provide free health check-ups and consultations to ex-servicemen and their dependents. Specialist doctors and medical staff examined participants and offered guidance on preventive healthcare and treatment needs.
An Ex-Servicemen Grievance Redressal Counter was also established on site, allowing veterans to directly present their issues related to pensions, documentation, and welfare schemes. Officials assured timely resolution of genuine grievances.
A dedicated CSD outlet facility was made available during the event, improving access to essential goods for ex-servicemen and their families.
In addition, a lecture on mental health awareness was conducted, focusing on emotional well-being, stress management, and the importance of seeking timely psychological support. The session highlighted challenges faced by veterans in adjusting to post-service life and encouraged open discussions around mental health.
The event was part of ongoing efforts by the Army to ensure welfare support for ex-servicemen while recognising their contribution to national service.
