
Itanagar , Jan 11: When a tragic fire engulfed the boys’ hostel at Government Residential School (GRS) Papikrung in Arunachal Pradesh, which housed 35 students, the SpearCorps acted swiftly to provide immediate assistance. Personnel rushed to the site, offering first aid, emergency support, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all affected students.
In the aftermath, temporary learning arrangements were quickly put in place so that academic activities could continue without disruption. The Spear Corps oversaw comprehensive repairs, refurbishment of classrooms, and complete reconstruction of the hostel facilities.
The rebuilt GRS Papikrung hostel, reopened on 16 October 2025, now stands as a symbol of resilience, community support, and the compassionate intervention of the Spear Corps. Students have resumed their education in a safe, well-equipped environment, reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to the welfare of youth in Arunachal Pradesh.
