Itanagar, June 19:The Indian Army, under its Spear Corps formations, organised a series of healthcare initiatives across remote parts of the Northeast, reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and outreach in difficult terrain.
In Arunachal Pradesh’s Dibang Valley, the Dao Division conducted a combined medical and dental camp, providing essential healthcare services, consultations, and free medicines to local residents living in hard-to-reach areas. The initiative aimed to address basic medical needs in regions where access to healthcare facilities remains limited due to challenging geography.
Simultaneously, in Assam’s Dhakuakhana, the Spearhead Division organised a separate medical camp, offering general health consultations and medical support to the local population. A team of Army medical personnel attended to patients and extended basic treatment facilities during the camp.
Officials said these initiatives reflect the Indian Army’s continued focus on humanitarian outreach and its role in strengthening civil-military relations. The camps were widely appreciated by local residents, who benefited from free medical care and medicines.
The Army reiterated its commitment to supporting communities in remote and underserved regions through such welfare-driven initiatives under its ongoing outreach programmes.
