Likabali, Mar 25: The Spearhead Division under #SpearCorps successfully concluded its two-day seminar on “Know Your Neighbour” at the Likabali Military Station on March 24, 2026, focusing on strategic awareness, innovation, and collaborative learning.
The event was graced by Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd), Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, and Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, GOC of #SpearCorps, who shared their perspectives on the emerging strategic dynamics of the region and the evolving domains of modern warfare.
During the seminar, discussions emphasised the importance of understanding regional geopolitics, border security challenges, and technological advancements in defense. Experts highlighted how proactive engagement with neighboring regions, situational awareness, and preparedness can enhance national security.
A key focus of the program was the role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and college students in contributing to strategic innovation. Participants explored how academic institutions and local innovators can support defense initiatives, from developing new technologies to fostering a culture of critical thinking and problem-solving that is aligned with contemporary security needs.
Lt Gen Pendharkar underlined the significance of such interactions in bridging civil-military knowledge gaps. “Seminars like these cultivate a deeper understanding of our strategic environment, encourage youth participation, and nurture innovative solutions that complement the Armed Forces’ operational objectives,” he said.
The event included interactive sessions, workshops, and panel discussions, allowing participants to engage with experts on topics ranging from cyber and space warfare to disaster response and community-level security awareness. Students and SMEs were encouraged to propose innovative solutions, with several ideas shortlisted for further exploration and potential collaboration with defense establishments.
The seminar concluded with a call for continued engagement between military units, academia, and local innovators to build a future-ready, resilient, and strategically aware society capable of contributing to both national security and regional development.
This initiative reinforces the Indian Army’s commitment to fostering community participation, knowledge-sharing, and innovation as key components of modern defense strategy, particularly in sensitive and strategically significant border regions like Arunachal Pradesh.
