
Northern Railway zone of the Indian Railways on Thursday said that a special train will run from Budgam to Katra for a period of fifteen days from September 19 (Friday) to October 3.
An official said that in view of the Jammu–Srinagar national highway closure between September 19 and October 3, the train number 74688 Vastodom Special will run for the next 15 days.
The decision has been taken to facilitate local passengers who are facing difficulties due to the highway shutdown.
The special service will provide an alternative travel option for people during the period of road closure, officials said.
The necessary arrangements are being put in place to ensure smooth operations and to meet the travel demand on this route.
