Srinagar, Aug 13: The District Administration Srinagar on Thursday felicitated officers and officials from the District Administration, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and District Police for their distinguished and dedicated public service ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.

The Excellence in Public Services Award ceremony was held at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex and was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, Commissioner SMC Faz Lul Haseeb and SSP Srinagar Sandeep Chakraborty. The awardees were presented Commendation Certificates and mementos in recognition of their exemplary contributions.
Addressing the gathering, DC Labroo congratulated the awardees and appreciated their professionalism, sincerity and commitment to duty. He said dedication and hard work were the foundations of professional excellence and essential for building an efficient, responsive and citizen-centric administration.
He stressed the importance of close coordination among the District Administration, SMC and Police for seamless delivery of public services and effective management of major public events. The ceremony, he said, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fostering excellence, teamwork, accountability and citizen-centric governance.
Commissioner SMC Faz Lul Haseeb appreciated the coordinated efforts of various departments and said teamwork and mutual cooperation were vital for a positive and result-oriented work environment. He particularly acknowledged the contribution of frontline officials in ensuring smooth public service delivery and successful conduct of major events.
SSP Srinagar Sandeep Chakraborty also commended the awardees for their discipline, dedication and outstanding contribution to public service.
Among those honoured were Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz, Nodal Principal, Kashmir Division Colleges; Joint Commissioner SMC (Admin) Nuzhat Qurashi; Executive Engineers Nisar Ahmad, Fareed Ahmad Khan, Akhter Hussain Raina and Asif Nazir Bhat; Assistant Labour Commissioner Adnan Tariq; DIO NIC Shahnaz; and District Tuberculosis Officer Dr Abdul Rouf.
Members of the Hospitality and Protocol Team, including Joint Director Fayaz Ahmad Parray, Deputy Director Saddat Iqbal and Assistant Director Showkat Ahmad, were also felicitated.
Several officials from R&B, KPDCL, SMC, Planning, Statistics, Traffic Police, the DC Office and District Protocol teams were recognised for their meritorious services.
Officials from the District Police, including Inspector Ab. Rashid, Sub-Inspector Mushtaq Ahmad, Probationary Sub-Inspector Ruchi Sharma, Head Constable Munshi Mutwali and Sgt. Constable Operator Shamin Ahmad Kooli, were also honoured.
The ceremony recognised the collective contribution of officers and frontline personnel whose sustained efforts have strengthened public service delivery and administration in Srinagar.
