Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today chaired a high-level review meeting at SKICC to assess Srinagar district’s developmental progress and public issues, with MLAs, ministers, DDC chairperson, and senior officials in attendance.

The meeting reviewed sector-wise and constituency-wise implementation of flagship schemes and key projects under CAPEX and CDF allocations. MLAs raised concerns on civic amenities, traffic congestion, stray dogs, and environmental issues.
The Chief Minister directed scientific and time-bound solutions for waste management at the Achan dumping site, long-term traffic decongestion measures, and a humane approach to control stray dogs. He emphasised active involvement of elected representatives in planning and execution, inter-departmental coordination, and timely utilisation of funds to ensure visible benefits for citizens.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo and Srinagar Municipal Corporation officials presented detailed updates on ongoing initiatives, winter preparedness measures, and public service continuity during snowfall and adverse conditions.
