Srinagar, Sep 30: Chief Education Officer Srinagar Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat organised a one-day orientation workshop on PARAKH and implementation of the Digital Holistic Progress Report Card, reinforcing efforts to align school assessment practices with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The workshop, held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh, brought together education stakeholders, including UT Nodal Officers, District Resource Persons (DRPs), Zonal Resource Persons (ZRP) and faculty members from across Srinagar district.
Addressing the gathering, the CEO appreciated the contribution of DRPs and ZRPs in supporting academic activities throughout the year. He said their collective efforts had helped strengthen the implementation of Vidya Pravesh and competency-based teaching-learning practices at the grassroots level.
Emphasising the importance of modern assessment methods, Bhat said the Holistic Progress Report moves beyond conventional marks-based evaluation by capturing the overall development of students. He called for its adoption and institutionalisation across schools in the district through the Digital Holistic Progress Report Card.
The technical sessions focused on the objectives and broader vision of PARAKH, with UT Nodal Officer Ghulam Hussan Reshi highlighting the changing role of teachers as facilitators, mentors and designers of meaningful learning experiences. He stressed the need for continuous professional development and adoption of competency-based pedagogical practices.
UT Resource Person Hilal Ahmad Wani explained the structure and significance of the Holistic Progress Report Card, while Nazrana, District Resource Person, Academic Monitoring Committee, conducted a live demonstration on classroom activities and assessment rubrics.
Bashir Ahmad Gojri, UT Resource Person, elaborated on activity designs under the Holistic Progress Card framework. Zaid, District Resource Person, Academic Monitoring Committee, demonstrated the Digital Holistic Progress Report Card and its practical application in schools.
The workshop concluded with a panel discussion during which participants shared experiences, sought clarifications and discussed strategies for effective implementation of the new assessment framework.
