Srinagar, July 21 : In preparation for the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations, SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS) chaired a comprehensive security review meeting at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office (DPO), Ganderbal.
The meeting was attended by senior officers from District Police, CRPF, and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) responsible for maintaining law and order and ensuring a secure environment for the national event.
During the session, extensive discussions were held on key aspects of security arrangements, including venue safety, intelligence inputs, area domination, patrolling strategies, and traffic regulation. Emphasis was laid on real-time coordination among all security agencies, strategic deployment of personnel, and round-the-clock monitoring of sensitive locations.
SSP Poswal issued directives to enhance surveillance mechanisms such as installation of CCTV cameras, intensified frisking at entry points, and random vehicle checks at multiple checkpoints. He also underscored the importance of preventive policing, community engagement, and swift response capabilities in case of emergencies.
Special focus was given to securing the main venue for the Independence Day function, facilitating smooth conduct of rehearsals, and maintaining peace throughout the district.
Reiterating a zero-tolerance policy towards elements attempting to disrupt peace, SSP Ganderbal assured that all arrangements would be made in close coordination with civil administration and intelligence units.
The meeting concluded with a joint commitment from all participating agencies to work collaboratively for a peaceful, safe, and dignified Independence Day 2025 celebration in Ganderbal.
