
“This is fourth visit to Kashmir. I am here only to enjoy my leisure time”
The Sufi singer Soniya Arrora is on a visit to the scenic beauty of Kashmir. She is staying at the world famed Dal Lake in Best View Resort, a group of Houseboats (Miss England).
The group is owned by Farooq Ahmed Kotroo. Kashmir whicH is known for its hospitality that totaly reflect at this venue .
“This is fourth visit to Kashmir. I am here only to enjoy my leisure time,” Arrora said.
She says that Kashmir is more beautiful than her own home.“Anyone’s home is a comfort. But, I must say that Kashmir is more than home for me. Her beauty is more
beautiful than home,” she said.
A professional singer based out of the capital city New Delhi, says that, “I belong to a Kawal family. We have started our career from singing at Dargha’s.”
Apart from all over India, Soniya has performed and brought fame worldwide in countries like Japan, USA, Congo, London, Canada, Mauritius, and Australia in more than
400 shows till date.
She said that she has visited 28 countries and sung in many songs like Punjabi and other devotional songs,” she said.
“We were getting ready for a debut in Bollywood. However, Covid spoiled our all the program and we lost almost around two years,” she said.
“I am more famous for my devotional song ‘Shukur Karan’. The song has crossed many hits online,” she said.
The singer was trained in classical music by her father, Late Shri Baldev Raj Arora, who was himself a well-known musician and singer. He has also trained his son who
is now a famous pianist, Praveen Arora.
Apart from being a melodious Sufi singer, Soniya is also a well-trained kathak dancer.
Most of her family members are directly or indirectly devoting their services and talent to the entertainment industry.
“I visited Kashmir during those times too when no one dared to visit Kashmir. I have performed for army in Baramulla, Pattan and in Kargil too,” she said.
Soniya Arrora has lent her melodious voice to more than 35 devotional albums like Sai Da Pehela No, Maiyaa Da Pehela No, Shukar Karaan Guru Ji, and much more.
“Next year, we have scheduled a Ladoo Song in Gulmarg. The Song will be shot in collaboration with Desi Roots,” she said.
Soniya is a performer who is promoting the art of Sufi music to children who are gifted with great voices.
She actively participates in social work as well.
