
Srinagar, June 30: The School Education Department is likely to announce summer break for all schools of Kashmir from next week, preferably from July 6.
Minister for education, Sakina Itoo has said the Education department was planning to announce the summer vacations for schools from the second week of July.
"The final date has not been selected. We will select a date and make a final decision once I return from New Delhi," she said.
The minister urged students and parents not to pay any heed to rumours being circulated on social media platforms.
"The message which is being circulated in what'sapp groups and other social media platforms is fake. We will announce the decision officially," she said.
Meanwhile, an official said that the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has proposed a 10 days summer break for schools of Kashmir.
“The directorate has proposed 10 days summer break for all government and private schools from Monday (July 6) and the final decision of School Education Department is expected to come soon,” the official said
The Education Minister Sakina Itoo will chair a general meeting on Wednesday, wherein the final decision is likely to be taken.
