Srinagar, Mar 12: ATVK Chairperson Tasleema Akther has strongly condemned the assassination attempt on JKNC Chief Dr. Farooq Abdullah during a marriage function at Royal Park in Greater Kailash, Jammu. The alleged attack by Kamal Singh turned what was meant to be a joyful celebration into a moment of fear and panic.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah, a former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, was attending the private function along with Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary when the incident reportedly occurred. The presence of such senior political leaders at a private gathering makes the attack particularly alarming.
Tasleema Akther said that if a leader of Dr. Abdullah’s stature is not safe even at a private event, it raises serious concerns about the overall security situation and public safety. She described the act as cowardly and unacceptable.
She further stated that those responsible must be brought to justice without delay. “Such acts of violence cannot be tolerated in a civilized society. The attacker must be held accountable and punished severely so that justice prevails and such incidents never repeat,” she said.
Authorities are expected to investigate the matter and ensure strict action against the accused.
