‘Teachers should focus on the moral education of students’

The Jammu and Kashmir Teacher Forum.from Chamkot and Tangdhar zones officially launched their annual calendar today in a dignified ceremony at the Mini Secretariat in Karnah. SDM Karnah, Zafar Ahmad Lone, was the chief guest, while Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Tangdhar, Rana Shah Mohammad, and Zonal Education Officer Chamkot, Mohammad Iqbal Chauhan, attended as distinguished guests.
The event was attended by a large number of teachers, along with representatives from various social and business organizations. Speakers appreciated the significance of the calendar, stating that it would help highlight the region's educational landscape and should continue to be issued in the future.
Addressing the gathering, SDM Karnah Zafar Ahmad Lone urged teachers to focus not only on providing quality education but also on the moral upbringing of students so that the new generation can contribute to the formation of an aware and exemplary society.
ZEOs Rana Shah Mohammad and Mohammad Iqbal Chauhan also addressed the event, praising the Teacher Forum’s initiative. They emphasized that teachers should focus on both academic excellence and character building, ensuring that students become responsible members of society. They further stressed that education should not be limited to textbooks but should also instill moral and social awareness among students.
Young journalist Ashfaq Sayeed also emphasized the importance of moral education for children. Additionally, social activist Dr. Ijaz Lone, President of Beopar Mandal Karnah Haji Tasleem Mir, T-JAC President Tangdhar Javed Ahmad Qureshi, E-JAC President Fareed Ahmad Khan, and Vice Principal of High School Skundi, Ghulam Mustafa, also addressed the gathering.
The event was moderated by Altaf Ahmad Khwaja, President of the Teacher Forum Chamkot Zone, while Syed Mubashir Shah concluded the event with a vote of thanks to the distinguished guests and attendees.
The event was also attended by Teacher Forum Tangdhar Zone President Ijaz Qureshi, Vice President Javed Ahmad Butt, General Secretary Zaheer Younis, as well as Zahoor Ahmad Qureshi and Javed Ahmad Lone.
