
Srinagar, Feb 18: Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) and Jammu & Kashmir Police launched a two-week Tech-Infused Tourism Policing training programme to modernize tourist safety protocols in Srinagar.
The program aims to train police personnel in managing high-footfall areas and crisis situations using advanced technology. Dr. Mahesh A. Tripathi, Director of RRU J&K Campus, and SP Shah Umer inaugurated the session, emphasizing proactive, tech-enabled policing for the tourism sector.
The curriculum covers crisis response, GPS-enabled monitoring, inter-agency coordination, and mobile applications for tourist assistance. Bhawani Sinh Rathore, Director of SISSP at RRU, highlighted tourism’s economic significance and stressed robust safety mechanisms to maintain J&K’s growing reputation as a tourist destination.
