Thannamandi T10 cricket tournament begins

Thannamandi, June 30: The much-awaited Open T10 Cricket Tournament was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at Thannamandi today. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Principal of Government Degree College (GDC) Thannamandi, Shamim Azad Malik, who attended the event as the Chief Guest and formally declared the tournament open.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of sports in shaping the character of youth by promoting discipline, teamwork, fitness, and sportsmanship. He encouraged all participating teams to play with dedication and uphold the true spirit of the game.
A total of 32 teams from different areas are participating in the tournament, making it one of the biggest cricketing events in the region. The organisers have announced a cash prize of ₹35,000 for the winning team and ₹15,000 for the runners-up.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed the participation of players, sports enthusiasts, local residents, and members of the organising committee. The organisers expressed confidence that the tournament would provide a platform for young cricketers to showcase their talent while promoting unity, brotherhood, and healthy competition among the youth.
The tournament will continue over the coming days with exciting matches expected to attract large crowds of cricket lovers.
