15 August(India’s independence day),the day of great significance in Indian history. The day which marks the end of Britain colonial rule in India and the beginning of a new era of independence and freedom. It is the day when Indians won their freedom. Everyone was happy on that day because the rule of British which was of almost 200 years was ended completely on 15 August,1947.
15th August,1947,the day when India celebrated its first day of freedom or independence. The first prime minister of India (Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru) raised the first Indian tricoloured flag for the first time on the RED FORT. That day has a historical significance because on that day the laws of Indian constitution were constituted and implemented on the same day. The Indian flag was raised on the LAHORI GATE of RED FORT and from then, every year on 15th August, the consequent prime minister of India repeats the process of Pandit JawaharlaL Nehru to remember his sacrifice for the nation.
Keeping the happiness aside, there was a sorrowful environment on the day of attaining freedom because the personalities who contributed for the struggle of freedom were not present to see the first flag of their nation raising on the historical place of RED FORT. They sacrificed their lives in making the India free from the rule of the Britishers, they fought for the independence of India, Those includes various names but some of the great personalities among them who sacrificed their whole life for the nation are mentioned below;
Baghat Singh , Subhash Chandra Bose , Dr. Rajendra Prasad , Lala Lajpat Rai , Lal Bahadur Shashtri and Bal Gangadar Tilak. The wonderful among these all names(Mahatma GandhI)who was born in a small town of Gujarat ''Porbandar''. He sacrificed the most for his country as he left his studies to take part in the corporations which lead India to be free .Although he was leader of some of the corporations .He took very much pain and punishments for the freedom of India. Rest of Mahatma Gandhi, it was the India’s first Prime Minister (Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru) who also served for the nation till his death. All these freedom fighters served their best in the struggle of attaining or making an independent India.
On 15th August every year, all Government as well as Private educational institutions celebrate the Independence day whole heartily. Schools and Collages are decorated on 15th of August and in every institution, the flag of our nation(TIRANGA) is raised and the programs regarding the remembrance of the day are held at very large amount in which various students make their participation to show their emotions for the sacrifice of those freedom fighters who fought for the freedom of India till their death. On every Government as well as private offices, there can be seen the flags raised on them on the day of 15th August. The parliament of India can also be seen full of TIRANGA'S every year on 15th august. On this day, the sky seems to be full of the Indian flags for the whole day, which shows the excitement of the people waiting to celebrate their independence day.
The struggle of freedom and the working of the freedom fighters remind us about the unity in our life. As in the era of struggle for independence, people were standing for it unitedly. In our life if we also will fight against the issues and problems unitedly without making any discrimination, then there is a guaranteed success awaiting . We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided (J.K ROWLING)
