The Glory Of Tral: An Example Of Natural Beauty

September 20, 2024 | Wani Arfat

Tral is a tehsil in the Pulwama district, located in the southern part of Kashmir. It is known for its Kashmiri name, "Trelal," meaning "three diamonds." It is said that the esteemed Amir Kabeer Mir Syed Ali Hamadani purchased Tral, giving it this name. Tral is not an ordinary place; it is a significant area linked to a saint. Amir Kabeer Mir Syed Ali Hamadani promoted the teachings of monotheism rather than sectarianism. He left a special prayer for his followers called "Awrad Fatiha," which we recite every morning.

Tral is a place filled with love and harmony, symbolizing brotherhood amidst various religious practices. It is a beautifully scenic area with many spots worth visiting. My favorite location is the Khanqah of Faiz Panah, which is the shrine of Amir Kabir Syed Ali Hamadani. Another notable place is the Naag, famously known as Dil Naag. Tral also hosts several educational institutions, including Darul Ulooms named after Shah Hamdan, Ikhlas, and Noor-e-Islam, along with two higher secondary schools and a degree college, all offering stunning views.
The Beauty of Tral Tral features several picturesque villages that are renowned throughout Kashmir, such as:

Arpal

Home to Arpal Naag, a stunning site about 11 kilometers from Tral, attracting visitors from afar.

Naristan

Located about 50 kilometers from Srinagar, this village is rich in natural beauty, filled with tall deodar trees, flowing streams, grassy fields, and mountains, making it appealing to local tourists.

Shikargah

A beautiful tourist spot just three kilometers from Tral, it was once frequented by Maharaja Hari Singh for wildlife experiences. Nearby is a village called kuoil Shikargah, which also boasts beautiful landscapes and a strong sense of community.

Pneer Jageer

This village features the historic "Pneer Dam," an attractive spot where locals spend their days enjoying nature. The dam distributes water to nearby rice fields and provides a refreshing swimming spot during summer.

Nagbran

Renowned as one of the most beautiful locations in Jammu and Kashmir, it connects to two stunning lakes, Tarsar and Marsar.

Lam Tral

Approximately 8 kilometers from Tral, Lam Tral is famous for its waterfall, attracting visitors for a refreshing swim.
Many other places in Tral are equally noteworthy. For instance, our village Kuchmullah, located three kilometers from Tral, houses the shrine of Roup Reshi, celebrated every 26th of Safar with visitors from afar. It also features a school named after the saint, along with a beautiful spring where children and adults cool off.
In conclusion, Tral is a beautiful place that deserves all the praise it receives. I urge anyone reading about Tral to visit at least once and experience its beauty, which brings a sense of peace to the heart
