A short story by Kalki -an Indian author - has satirized the conceit of those in power in his short story -The Tiger King that narrates a story of a king in a fictional kingdom of Pretibandapuram who known by various names ie; Maharaja Adhirajah, Viyagraha Smrath, Sir Jeelani Jung Jung Bahadur etc. but shortly known as the Tiger king. Although it is a very interesting to know how he came to be known as a tiger king , but at the same time it is very pathetic to know what has been the outcome of his arrogant behavior and rigid nature. He is foretold by astrologers that he would be killed by tiger and hence he is firmly set to hunt the tigers up to the number of hundred as the astrologers would say ' Even if he kills 99 tigers , the 100th will kill him.' And the dramatic irony is exhibited when he dies due to a toy tiger that is not a living one.
There are thousands of plays that highlight the vices of those in power especially when it comes to the power without check and the major contribution to this literature has been made by William Shakespeare. His plays like King Lear -strikes at the folly of Lear who deprives one of his daughters of the property only on account of her innocence and truthfulness for she doesn’t lie about the magnitude of her love and dedication to her father. she is realistic in her approach and declares that she doesn’t love her father above all.
We have been witnessing and the people in past have witnessed that the powerful national have always tried to subjugate those lagging behind with the intention to exploit the material resources of the world. History is evident that UK has exploited African countries. Joseph Conrad has fully elaborated in his novel ' The Herat of the Darkness' how Uk exploited the Arxan nation only for the resources like ivory. and the irony of the fact being that Uk always claimed that they had been civilizing Africa. the same tone is reflected in E.M Fosters novel ' A Passage to India ' in which Mrs. Moore represents the British and Dr Aziz represents India. The holocaust is created when Mrs Moore feels something touch-pushing inside the Malabar caves and alleges Dr Aziz of sexual assault . ultimately dr Aziz is arrested by British police and put behind the bars. there are many more texts in English literature that express the resentment against colonizer and suppression showered by him.
American Tiger King is on his way to complete his target of killing hundredth tiger and is imagining to rejoice after his success and accomplishment. I feel quiet satisfied to make a semblance between the tiger king in Kalki's story and the story of America who at present is the president. In kalki's story , astrologers predict the death of tiger king by a tiger, but the prediction doesn’t reveal whether it can be a real tiger or a toy tiger that ultimately becomes the cause of the king's death. and I feel quiet confident to say that the end of Israel is predicted and it is certain to happen by the hands of imam-e-Mehdi and Hazrat-e-Essah (PBUH). Israel since her emergence as a nation has been hell bent on destroying Muslim world and the visible victim of her tyranny is Palestine. America has been playing the role of facilitator for Israel with the evil intention to make her as a weapon against Muslims of Middle East.
Although the Muslim world that I compare here with the coward dewan who was feeling helpless at the hands of the tiger king and following his instructions only for the sake of his position. Saudi crown prince is the real dewan here in the parable of American Tiger king. I very proudly declare that Iranian leader Aitullah Khamanei is the real hero of the present story who openly challenged both the powers ie; America and the Isarel. In the very recent development , we could see that Israel Launched a war against Palestine hence king the innocent public. The most tyrannic situation being faced by the Palestinian public is the blockade of food, water, medicine and other civic amenities that however is against the war ethics and international human rights laws.
Artistically saying how does the irony emerge out of all this drama is that America sponsored the war and its again America that has stopped the war just like in recent times we have seen that she also stopped the Indo-Pak escalation on borders succeeding the Pahalgam Terror attack. So the dramatic irony reflected in this tragic episode is that the world as audience is aware about the end of such atrocious powers , but they are not. The satirical string seems to be strengthening when we see that Russian got defeat in Afghanistan after three decides and then USA after two decades. USA destroyed Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and what is the outcome of all these wars the whole world knows it very well. I feel compelled to quote Alfred Lord Tennyson who in his famous poem " Lotos Eaters" says: death is the end of life; ah, why this all toil be.
