
Bandipora, Oct 3: Traffic movement along the route of the Wallur Ultra Marathon 3.0 will remain suspended for nine hours on Sunday, October 4, as authorities have issued a traffic advisory to facilitate the event.
According to the advisory issued by Traffic Police Rural Kashmir, the marathon will begin at the BSF Headquarters in Maddar, Bandipora, and proceed towards NHPC Pethkotha. The route will then continue towards Chewa through Kangrihowk and the Wallur Vintage Road before returning.
Vehicular movement along the designated route will remain suspended from 5 am to 2 pm.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the affected stretches during the event and use designated alternate routes.
Traffic heading towards Srinagar from Gurez, Bandipora town and Bandipora bus stand will be diverted through the Bandipora-Sopore road. The same route will be used for vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.
Vehicles travelling from Srinagar towards Bandipora and Gurez will be routed through Narbal, Pattan and Sopore before proceeding towards Bandipora.
Similarly, traffic travelling from Ganderbal towards Bandipora will be diverted through Sumbal, Naidkhai and Sopore.
Authorities said the restrictions have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the marathon and regulate traffic movement during the event.
