A day-long training workshop was held at the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Sanat Ghar Bemina, aimed at strengthening the capacities of officials and stakeholders associated with the Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council (MSEFC), Kashmir Division.
The workshop was conducted by senior officials from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. The session focused on the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) portal—an important digital platform introduced under the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) program, supported by the World Bank.
Addressing the gathering, the Director of Industries & Commerce, Kashmir, emphasized the importance of timely payments for MSME sustainability and highlighted the role of digital tools in enhancing institutional mechanisms for grievance redressal.
The ODR portal, integrated with the existing Samadhaan Portal, offers MSMEs a simple, transparent, and cost-effective way to resolve delayed payment disputes without resorting to time-consuming legal channels. Participants were trained on portal functionalities, procedural workflows, and its integration with government systems.
The Director reiterated the Jammu & Kashmir Government’s commitment to supporting the MSME ecosystem and encouraged stakeholders to utilize digital redressal tools for quicker dispute resolution and fostering a culture of prompt payments.
This initiative aligns with the broader goals of the Ministry of MSME to enhance transparency, operational efficiency, and ease of doing business for small enterprises across the Union Territory.
