Churachandpur, June 8: Assam Rifles paid heartfelt tribute to Sepoy Thenkhomang Haokip of 59 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion during a solemn wreath-laying ceremony held at his residence in Lhanjang village of Churachandpur district, Manipur.

The brave soldier made the supreme sacrifice while serving the nation in Leh, Ladakh, on June 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of courage, dedication, and selfless service.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of senior Army and Assam Rifles officers, civil administration officials, ex-servicemen, family members, and local residents, who gathered to honour the fallen soldier and express solidarity with his bereaved family.
More than 120 military personnel and civilians attended the event, paying their final respects by laying wreaths and offering prayers in memory of the braveheart. The gathering reflected the deep respect and gratitude of both the armed forces and the local community for his sacrifice in the service of the nation.
Speakers on the occasion highlighted Sepoy Haokip’s commitment to duty and his unwavering devotion to safeguarding the country.
