Srinagar police arrested three individuals and seized a substantial quantity of psychotropic substances, cash, and a drone. The trio were arrested at a checkpoint in the Safakadal area of downtown when the police intercepted a motorcycle (JK01AF-0207) used by them.
The accused, identified as Ajaz Ahmad Ganie, Owais Ahmad Gojree, and Mir Roman, were found carrying 140 bottles of Codeine Phosphate concealed in a box, Rs 38,530 in cash, one drone, and three mobile phones. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects used drones to monitor consumer movements and track police activity to evade detection.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of law at PS Safakadal, and further investigation is underway.
