
Jammu and Kashmir Bank MD and CEO Baldev Prakash on Wednesday said that the launch of the e-ticketing platform for entry into Asia famous tulip garden was very much in line with the government’s focus on public convenience and comfort of tourists.
“For public convenience, we will integrate more such utility services into our digitalisation drive to widen the ecosystem of online payments, thereby increasing overall efficiency of the region’s financial system,” Prakash added.
He was speaking as Asia's largest tulip garden located at the foothills of Zabarwan mountain range in Srinagar was thrown open for public today, marking the beginning of the new tourism season in the Kashmir region.
Regarding the tulip garden, it was informed that more than 1.5 million tulips in 60 varieties and colours will bloom this year. Besides, flowers like Daffodils, Hyacinths, Narcissus and other ornamental plants are being planted here to make the garden one of the main attractions for domestic and foreign tourists.
Principal Secretary (Housing and Urban Development) Dheeraj Gupta; Principal Secretary (Industries and Commerce) Ranjan Prakash Thakur; Commissioner Secretary (Forests, Ecology and Environment) Sanjeev Verma; Commissioner Secretary (Floriculture, Parks and Gardens) Sheikh Fayaz; Secretary (Tourism) Sarmad Hafeez; Deputy Commissioner (Srinagar), Commissioner (SMC), Director (Handicrafts and Handloom), Director (Floriculture) and other officers were all present for the garden’s opening.
