Kulgam, Nov 8: Two persons were apprehended with arms and explosives during joint naka checking in Kulgam on Sunday.

The police said that at about 11:30 am, a joint team of Police Station Kulgam, 09 RR and CRPF 18 BN laid a naka, during which two suspicious persons tried to flee after noticing the naka party but were tactfully apprehended.
During preliminary questioning, they were identified as Muneeb Yaseen Rather and Tahir Bilal, both residents of Bugam.
Upon search, one pistol along with a magazine and two live rounds were recovered from Muneeb Yaseen Rather, while two live hand grenades were recovered from Tahir Bilal.
In this regard, FIR No. 213/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kulgam and further investigation has been taken up.
